Turboteck
Supplies is a company owned and operated
by Ken Harris, who has been in the carpet cleaning and
restoration business for 26 years now, 18 years which
were spent working as an owner operator on the truck up
to 1998. Ken got into the Supply business full-time back
in 1999 with the introduction of the Spinmax
(now Turboteck) rotary air duct cleaning system for
use with truckmounts. It was so successful that over 1100
unit sales took place in 2000. Sales went well for the
next 2 years, but Ken knew that what was really needed
was a glide that would fit on the bottom of the carpet
cleaning wands and make the job of wand pushing an
easier one. In 2002, there were already flat bottomed
glides in the marketplace, and these were modified by
Ken to make them work better, but after a year with only
limited success doing this, a new approach was needed.
So it was that in July 2003, that the Superglide
Teflon Glide was born.
Ken figured correctly that a round glide should slide
better on the carpet than a flat one, without locking
down. He also figured the best way to dry a carpet faster
with it was to put holes on the face of it instead of
slots, like traditional wands use.So it was that this
was how the first Superglides were made. They went on
sale in the USA on July 23, 2003. To find out why the
Superglides with the holes are the best performing glides
you can buy , read our article "Why
you need a glide.".
Despite some difficulties encountered when some companies
tried to block this idea from reaching the marketplace,
Turboteck Supplies is now the largest seller and manufacturer
of the Superglides in Canada and the USA.Sales on these
exceeded over 3400 shipped and sold in 2004. With over
100 distributors selling our Superglides
in the USA so far in 2005, this year looks even busier.
Today the design and fit on the Superglides
has only improved from where they began in 2003. The new
1/4" holes used on our current product means that
cleaners no longer have to worry about glides plugging
up to get a glide that can deliver dry times as low as
1 hour or less.
Glide technology took a giant step forward
in April 2005 with the introduction of the SuperLip
Teflon Glide. For the first time ever a teflon glide
was made available below $30 that all cleaners can afford
to use on their wands, no matter what the brand, because
the SuperLip glide is a universal fitting type that will
fit on nearly all wands! It cuts the push effort by approx
70% over that required on an unglided wand. In addition,
it allows wand operators to dry the carpets they clean
within a couple of hours now when using good wanding technique
and moderate humidity levels. Turboteck has developed
this low cost glide technolodgy to the other industry
equipment as well, so that operators of the RX20 machines,
Rotovacs, and even RDM machines can operate at a higher
level of ease and operator efficiency. This is in addition
to the same glide products developed for stair tools and
upholstery tools as well. Turboteck will soon launch the
world's first glided upholstery tool that can dry fabric
in as little as 15 minutes! It will allow cleaners world
wide to clean and dry upholstery before they leave the
job. Look for this and other industry firsts to be announced
throughout this year
Today the selection of glides for other equipment is there
to improve both the cleaning and drying performance on
the RX20, the
Roto-Vac, Steamin Demon,
and even the RDM machines. Glides are in production to
fit to the stair tools as well as the upholstery tools
which will make the cleaning and drying of upholstery
take minutes to achieve, not hours.
Our promise to our customers is to never cease in our
effort to offer them only the best products that we can
make to make their jobs easier and more profitable in
both the carpet cleaning and air duct cleaning fields.
They deserve nothing less. |
